recently a RI teacher came out of the closet and blogged about himself being gay. It caused some controversy and with pressure from the school and the MOE, he removed the blog entry. read his entry below:

i respect his courage and i am touched by his family's love. especially that of his parents. their acceptance and their willing to include him and his boyfriend in the family. this is something most gays or lesbians do not have.

i am a free spirit. someone who loves to be true to myself and to everyone else. i hate hiding and i hate lying to the people closest to me. yet circumstances forced me to do what i hate the most. hopefully it'll come a day when acceptance finds me well within my circle of friends and my family. i was born free. my wish is to stay free.
